A Midsummer Nights Dream by Feather-Collector A Midsummer Nights Dream by Feather-Collector
I thought I was finished with Diorammas when I graduated from highschool, but apparently not. This scene from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Nights Dream" was done for a project in my Interpretive Illustration class. It's about a two feet high and a foot and a half wide. The figures are sculpted out of styrafoam and sculpy and painted with acrylic. The backdrop was made out of masonite boards and built up with Paper-mache, then painted. The fungus is shells and bits of bone, and the mushrooms are sculpy.

I may just be biased cause Midsummer Nights Dream is one of my favorite Shakesperian plays, but thats amazing.

I'm in awe (even though it's a broad view of what appears to be an IDE -- intense detail experience -- piece). Might there be a rent-equipment checkout system anywhere around campus? Our facilities have three different venues to go through -- check-out through library, check-out through extended media department or take your piece to the photography lab to have it shot in professional lighting (by yourself or by someone in the department).

At any rate, I can tell it's great :)

This looks excellent but I'm, not getting the full effect of the miniscule detail. Can you get more images, closer-up? I just have to see the expression on both characters more.

I do want to get some better images of this up eventually, but I'll have to get someone else to take them *G*, I'm a terrible photographer.
